C&A in Europe, Salzburg Branch
C&A, one of the world's leading department stores, leads the way in contemporary lighting. Recently, their store in Salzburg, Austria, has been updated with the conversion from T8 fluorescent lamps (26 mm diameter) operated by magnetic ballasts (CCG) to the new generation of T5 fluorescent lamps (16 mm diameter). A combination of FH 28W T5 fluorescent lamps and POWERSTAR HCI-T 70 W metal halide lamps now strikingly wash the walls.
With a current power consumption of 10 W/m2 compared to15 W/m2 with the previous installation, C&A has set the standard for an energy efficient future. As an added bonus, the quality of light has improved, delivering a 20% increase in the light levels due to the installation of this modern lighting technology.
