The OSRAM Collection has been growing since 2001. Works are purchased from the Galery exhibition program and displayed at OSRAM headquarters. The profile of the collection is a panorama of modern youthful art. The collection includes both representational and abstract items, both pictorial and conceptual works; the media used range from photography and paintings to sculptures and art installations with reference to their immediate surroundings.

The collection is not primarily concerned with representation but with participation – for the employees of the company and for the general public. Every purchase is preceded by an exhibition that provides and insight into the work of the artist. The interrelationships between these individual exhibitions that are conveyed by visits to the gallery and by the annual catalogs give even the non-specialist public an excellent impression of the young art scene. Art becomes part of the discussion culture within the company.

The works in the collection deal with relevant social, theoretical, political and philosophical aspects of our everyday lives. In their various manifestations they look at the human condition and ask questions about the relationships we have with our environment.

The catalog for 2007 is now available, with articles by Diana Ebster, Peter Lehnhart, Anna Schäfers, Gabi Schaffner and Christian Schoen.
